IBC Silicone Base Heater

 

The IBC Silicone Base Heater 2700W from Kuhlmann Electro-Heat is a powerful and effective solution for heating the contents of an IBC container directly from underneath.

 

It is particularly suitable for viscous or semi-solid products that can become difficult to pump or discharge at lower temperatures. Heating the product can reduce its viscosity, making pumping and emptying the IBC significantly easier while helping minimise product residue.

 

The heating element is manufactured from 100% durable silicone material and is designed to withstand the pressure and weight of a fully loaded IBC container.

 

Unlike heaters that are installed externally around the IBC, this base heater is installed permanently at the bottom of the IBC frame, on top of the pallet and underneath the inner container. This allows heat to be transferred directly from the bottom into the contents. CAUTION: Suitable only for IBC containers with a metal pallet.

 

With an output of 2700 W at 230 V, the heater provides substantial heating capacity. According to the manufacturer, it can typically heat water in a fully loaded IBC from 15°C to 70°C in less than 40 hours.

 

For an even faster heating process, Kuhlmann recommends combining the base heater with a suitable IBC insulation jacket or thermal insulation cover to reduce heat loss to the surrounding environment.

 

The base heater can also be combined with the optional 13-1471 Digital Temperature Controller, which provides an adjustable range of 0-150°C and a PT100 sensor system for safe and accurate temperature control.

 

Important: the 0-150°C range applies to the optional digital controller and is not a stated operating temperature range for the base heater itself.

 

This installation configuration also allows the heater to be used for heating or maintaining temperature during IBC transportation, provided that the installation and electrical supply conditions are suitable for the specific application.

IMPORTANT

The optional 13-1471 controller has an adjustable temperature range of 0-150°C. This value does not represent the stated operating temperature range of the 13-1436 base heater. The permissible operating temperature must always be determined according to the product being heated, the IBC container, the installation and the manufacturer’s instructions.

 

 

TIP

For a faster and more energy-efficient heating process, we recommend combining the Base Heater with a suitable IBC Insulation Jacket or Thermal Insulation Cover. The base heater transfers heat from underneath, while the external insulation reduces heat loss through the side walls.

For even better thermal performance, an IBC Insulation Lid can also be added to reduce heat loss through the top of the container.
