Description
Chemical Absorbent Booms dia.20,0cm
Our Chemical Absorbent Booms are manufactured from 100% polypropylene outer and filler. This high capacity absorbent is ideal for diverting or “pooling” spills. They are also useful for placing alongside or around machinery, tanks or drums to prevent any leaks spreading across the floor.
May be safely used with all aqueous solutions and liquids immiscible with water, such as corrosive chemicals, hazardous liquids, acids, hydrocarbons, solvents with the exception of strong oxidising agents.
Before any use in a spill situation a proper risk assessment should be carried out and all hazardous properties of the liquid or dangerous reactions taken into account.
The Chemical Absorbent Booms are 100% meltblown polypropylene and are hydrophilic meaning they will rapidly absorb chemical liquid spills.
The Chemical Absorbent Booms are colour coded to the BSIF Standards for easy recognition, distinction and visibility.
Benefits
- Manufactured from 100% meltblown polypropylene
- Ultrasonically bonded to reduce linting and improve tensile strength
- Laminated spunbond layer on one side to improve tear resistanceh
- Excellent absorbency and fluid retention
- Can be incinerated, keeping disposal costs down
- Highly visible due to their distinctive colour
- Have high strength, even when saturated.
Applications
- To place around machinery to prevent spills from spreading
- To contain, control and absorb spills
- To provide temporary bunding around drums and IBC’s
- Haz mat chemical absorbent socks are an essential part of a spill response plan
