Description

Oil selective absorbent pillows 45cm X 45cm: soak up oil, solvents and petrochemicals but not water.

1. Designed for emergency response by allowing fast absorption of oil spills in waterways or on land:
   
   • Absorbs oil, hydrocarbons, fuels, solvents and cleaning agents without absorbing water.
     
   • Floats on water even after total saturation.
     
   • In emergency response, should be used in combination with CorkSorb booms (in waterways) or socks (on land) to minimize spill dispersion.
     
   • The pillow’s large surface area is ideal for fast spill absorption.
     
   • Designed to prevent static electricity risks (using cork and polypropylene skin with anti-static treatment); suitable for using in ATEX areas.
     
   • UV resistant.
     
2. The pillow format is very suitable for dealing with leaks and drips.
   
3. Uses cork as an absorbent. Cork is a 100% natural product: ecological (natural and renewable) and sustainable (it is the bark of the cork oak tree which is extracted from the tree without damaging it; it promotes forest cleanliness and conservation).
   
4. Each pillow absorbs 9.3 l of oil, minimizing costs in sorbents and disposal treatment.
   
5. CorkSorb is highly resistant to almost all chemical compounds. CorkSorb pillows are not suitable for sorption of basic solutions, particularly with a pH level above 13, or in oxidizing environments.
   
6. Can be incinerated.
   
7. United States Environmental Protection Agency considers that the CorkSorb products meet the definition of sorbent as specified in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), sections 300.5 and 300.915(g) of the US National Contingency Plan (NCP).

Skin: Polypropylene (+ anti-static and UV resistant additives).
